Athletic Therapist – Full-Time Position
Location: Barrie, ON
Team: Barrie Colts – Ontario Hockey League
The Barrie Colts are seeking a motivated and experienced Athletic Therapist to join their team in a full-time capacity beginning August 2025. Based in Barrie, Ontario, this role reports directly to the General Manager and Head Coach, supporting the health, safety, and performance of elite-level athletes competing in the Ontario Hockey League.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prevent, assess, and rehabilitate injuries and illnesses for players.
- Provide on-site care at all practices and games, including emergency response and first aid.
- Design and monitor individualized rehabilitation programs.
- Maintain communication with coaching staff regarding player status and recovery.
- Coordinate medical appointments and manage athlete health records.
- Handle inventory of medical and training supplies.
- Handle insurance documentation and game-day preparation.
- Support athlete development on and off the ice.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- CAT(C) Certification and First Responder Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and/or Athletic Therapy.
- Experience as a Certified Athletic Therapist, or in-progress certification with hockey or contact sport experience.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel internationally.
- Must pass a background check.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with therapeutic modalities (e.g., ultrasound, stim, hydrotherapy).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-performance sport environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel).
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
