The Barrie Colts would score first but the Niagara Icedogs would take charge from there, scoring three unanswered taking a 3-1 victory.
The Colts would return to action Thursday night hosting the Niagara Icedogs for their second meeting of the preseason.
With the Colts continuing to roll with three goaltenders it would be Kai Edmonds turn in the pipes making his second start.
Both teams would come out with a relentless pace, with a plethora of quality scoring chances but the first team to break the ice wouldn’t be until a Icedogs powerplay working in good fortune for the Colts.
With just 1:33 remaining in the 1st, Ryan Suzuki would strip the Icedogs defense and be stopped on the breakaway by Icedogs starter Colton Inze but Aidan Brown right behind the play would slide in the rebound scoring shorthanded, his 2nd of the preseason.
Early into the second the Icedogs would respond with a goal by Oliver Castleman to knot things up at one apiece and with almost the same amount of time left on the clock in the period Kyen Sopa would squeeze one by Edmonds to put the Dogs ahead.
Niagara would take a 2-1 lead into the final frame.
With the colts down a man at 3:39 of the third, the Icedogs would push their lead to two with a blast from the point by Billy Constantinou.
The Colts will continue their preseason schedule Saturday night as they will welcome the Peterborough Petes to the molson Centre for a 7:30pm puck drop.
