Colts October Review
It was a long time coming to see a return of regular-season Ontario Hockey League action at Sadlon Arena. The Colts finished the month of October with a 4-5-1-0 record and celebrated many firsts.
Oskar Olausson (2021 COL 1st Round Pick & 2021 OHL Import Selection) didn’t take long to settle into the OHL and notched his First Career OHL Goal on opening night (Oct. 7th, 2021) at home against the IceDogs. Not taking long to set a new Colts record, Olausson scored 10 seconds into the game on Oct. 14th vs the Soo Greyhounds, setting a new Colts record for fastest goal to start a game. Olausson then went on to scoring his First Career OHL Hat-Trick in Niagara on Oct. 21st, 2021.
With a loud Sadlon Arena on Oct. 16th, 2021, vs the Mississauga Steelheads, Colts goaltender Matteo Lalama put on a show for the Colts fans. In his First Career OHL start, Lalama stopped all 33 shots he faced to record his First Career OHL Win & Shutout.
Hunter Haight (2020 1st Round Pick) and Cooper Matthews (2020 3rd Round Pick) both registered their First Career OHL Goals when the Colts paid a visit to the Battalion on Oct. 17th, 2021 in the 6-4 victory. With the Colts victory, newcomer Matt Sbrocca picked up his First Career OHL Victory.
It took a bit longer than he wanted but Beau Jelsma got the monkey off his back and scored his First Career OHL Goal on Oct. 29th, 2021 in Mississauga in-route to helping the Colts complete their OT comeback victory 3-2.

Other notables:
- The Colts completed a transaction with the Oshawa Generals on Oct. 1st, 2021 acquiring 2002 born goaltender, Matt Sbrocca.
- New York Rangers prospect, Evan Vierling, helped carry the Colts to their first victory of the season on Oct. 16th, 2021, scoring both Colts goals.
- Oliver Smith got off to a hot start registering two goals (including the game-winner) on two shots in his first game of the season on Oct. 17th in North Bay.
- The Colts squared off against the Ottawa 67’s at Sadlon Arena across the nation on CBC on Oct. 23rd, 2021, dropping the decision 3-0.
- Ryan Del Monte recorded a new career-high registering four points (1 Goal, 3 Assists) on Oct. 28thwhen the Colts beat Sudbury 7-3 at Sadlon Arena. Del Monte was recognized for his efforts by earning the CHL’s Player of The Night
- The LA Kings 2021 1st Round Pick, Brandt Clarke, settled in after missing the first two games of the season and picked up his 50th Career OHL Point on Anthony Tabak’s goal on Oct. 30th, 2021 vs the Battalion.
