Colts Drop Second Pre-Season Game Against Attack
For the second straight time they have faced the Attack this pre-season, the Colts weren’t able to come out with a win. After getting out to a quick 1-0 lead, the Colts would allow three unanswered goals, getting into penalty trouble and unable to generate offence.
The first period would see Kyle Heitzner score his fourth goal of the pre-season, notching the Colts lone goal of the game. Heitzner’s tally came just over five minutes into the period and was assisted by Aidan Brown and Christopher Cameron. Heitzner, a Colts rookie, currently leads the squad in goals this pre-season.
The Colts wouldn’t be able to escape the first period with the lead though, as the Attack scored their first goal of the game with less than five minutes to play. Aidan Dudas scored his first of the pre-season while Nick Suzuki assisted.
Late in the second period, the Attack would extend their lead to 2-1 when Petrus Palmu beat Ruan Badenhorst on the power play for his third goal of the pre-season. Thomas Schemitsch and Nick Suzuki assisted on the Attack’s go-ahead goal.
Despite an attempted comeback from the Colts, penalties would plague them and they would be unable to tie the game. The Attack would score their third goal of the game when Nick Suzuki capped off his three point night with a goal. Tyler MacArthur would assist the goal.
The Colts were outshot by the Attack 43-16 over 60 minutes, while Christian Propp and Ruan Badenhorst split time between the pipes for the Colts.
