Barrie Colts Alert: Fraudulent Emails Circulating
The Barrie Colts are alerting partners, sponsors, and members of the Ontario Hockey League community to a recent email scam targeting local businesses and fans.
Individuals are impersonating members of the Barrie Colts Business Operations team in an attempt to deceive recipients into making payments for vendor space, promotional tables, and other commercial opportunities. These messages are being sent from unofficial email addresses and request payment through unauthorized channels.
The Barrie Colts’ IT department is actively investigating the situation and working to identify the source of these fraudulent communications.
The organization is urging all members of the community to remain vigilant and to verify the authenticity of any email communication received. The Barrie Colts will never enter into a vendor agreement without direct communication with a member of our Business Operations staff, nor will the organization request advance payment without first issuing an official invoice from the Business Operations Department.
All official Barrie Colts correspondence originates exclusively from @barriecolts.com email addresses. Any message received from a different domain should be considered suspicious and reported immediately.
Anyone who has received a suspicious message or believes they may have been affected by this scam is encouraged to contact:

The Colts take the security of our partners, sponsors, and fans very seriously and will continue to implement enhanced measures to protect all official communications.
