Barrie Colts Take Game 4 with 9–6 Win Over Niagara
The Barrie Colts delivered a dominant offensive performance Thursday night at the Meridian Centre, defeating the Niagara IceDogs 9–6 in Game 4 of their opening-round playoff series.
Barrie set the tone immediately, erupting for five goals in a commanding first period to seize control of the game. Ben Wilmott opened the scoring before Nic Desiderio quickly followed to extend the early lead.
Cole Beaudoin added to the surge with his first of the night, while Emil Hemming found the back of the net shortly after. Beaudoin struck again later in the frame, capping off a five-goal opening period that put the Colts firmly in control.
The Colts continued to apply pressure in the second period, adding three more goals to extend their lead. Brad Gardner scored on the power play before Mason Zebeski followed with what stood as the game-winning goal. Hemming added his second of the night later in the period, continuing Barrie’s offensive push.
n the third period, Ben Wilmott capped off the scoring with his second goal of the game on the power play, rounding out a nine-goal performance for Barrie. Cole Beaudoin, Emil Hemming, and Wilmott each recorded two goals on the night.
The Colts outshot Niagara 30–27, capitalizing on their chances while generating sustained pressure throughout all three periods.
With the victory, the Colts return home with an opportunity to close out the series in front of their fans this Saturday night.
