Growing up in Michigan, Babcock played for both the Litte Ceasars AAA program and legendary Detroit Catholic Central high school before a stint with the USNTDP led to two seasons in the USHL culminating in a season as captain of the Fargo Force in the 2014-15 season. After graduating from the junior level, Babcock spent 4 years at Merrimack College where he earned his business degree while playing four seasons and again serving as captain and named to the Hockey East All-Academic team in 2015-16. Babcock moved to Europe for a season playing for Amiens in France\u2019s Ligue Magnus winning the French Cup in the 2019-20 season before turning his attention to coaching.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Reciving his first call to the bench in 2021-22, Babcock spent two seasons with the University of Saskatchewan as assistant coach while earning his MBA in the process. In 2023, Babcock joined the Ottawa Senators briefly in an assistant\/development coach role before moving to the St. Louis Blues for a pair of seasons as the team\u2019s skills coach, including working with former AHL Bulldogs head coach Claude Julien. For the 2025-26 season, Babcock moved to San Diego where he served as assistant coach with the AHL\u2019s San Diego Gulls.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Babcock is the son of legendary coach of Triple Gold Club member and Stanley Cup Champion Mike Babcock, who captured hockey\u2019s ultimate prize in 2008 with the Detroit Red Wings, along with Olympic Gold Medals in 2010 &amp; 2014.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u201cFrom the moment we began this search, our focus was finding the right leader to guide our players and our organization into the future. Mike is a relentless competitor, an elite communicator, a gifted teacher, and most importantly, a tremendous human being. His passion for the game is infectious, his commitment to player development is unwavering, and his ability to connect with people is special. Mike embodies everything we believe a Bulldog should be. He will challenge our players, he will push our players, and most importantly he will care for our players. signing of recently acquired forward Jack Good from the Brooks Bandits of the BCHL.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Good, the Ajax, ON, product, was originally selected in the 7<sup>th<\/sup> round, 125<sup>th<\/sup> overall, by the Erie Otters in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection Draft. Good\u2019s draft selection was a reflection of a commitment both to St. Andrew\u2019s College and an NCAA path that has led to a commitment to Merrimack Collge. Good led a Markham Waxers U16 AAA program that featured OHLers Nathan Aspinall, Owen Griffin &amp; Frankie Marrelli, posting 23 goals &amp; 21 assists for 44 points in 25 OMHA league games, followed by 3 goals &amp; 14 assists for 17 points in just 8 playoff games. The 5\u201910\u201d, 172lbs left-shot forward moved on to star at St. Andrew\u2019s College, forming a dynamic duo with NHL 1<sup>st<\/sup> round selection Dean Letourneau with Good an incredible 44 goals &amp; 101 assists for 145 points in 70 games across all competitions in the 2023-24 season while serving as an assistant captain. Good moved to the BCHL from there with the Brooks Bandits where he won the BCHL Championship as a rookie before becoming a dominant force in the 2025-26 season. Leading the Bandits through the regular season, Good posted 22 goals and a league leading 48 assists for 70 points across 54 games, Good had his biggest moment in the post season recording the overtime winner in Game 5 to capture Brooks\u2019 2<sup>nd<\/sup> straight BCHL Championship.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>On his acquisition, Brantford Bulldogs General Manager Spencer Hyman was quoted;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are extremely excited to welcome Jack Good to the Bulldogs organization.\u201d said Brantford Bulldogs General Manager Spencer Hyman. \u201cHe is a talented player who will contribute immediately and help support the development of our younger players. In the 2024-25 season, Lappalainen\u2019s dynamic duo with Jaakko Wysick was at it\u2019s finest with Lappalainen posting 30 goals &amp; 23 assists for 53 points in 28 ALLIANCE league games, followed by 7 goals &amp; 4 assists for 11 points in 10 ALLIANCE playoff games on route to the Panthers \u201909 group 2<sup>nd<\/sup> straight championship.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In his rookie junior season, the 6\u20190\u201d\/178 left shot forward continued to show his ability to produce, with the Leamington Flyers in the OJHL. Notching 14 goals &amp; 21 assists for 35 points in 49 games, placing him 7<sup>th<\/sup> among all U17 skaters in the league. Lappalainen skated in one game with the Firebirds in the 2025-26 season, posting a plus-1 raiting.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBrayden Lappalainen was a player we identified and valued highly throughout last year\u2019s draft process.\u201d said Brantford Bulldogs General Manager Spencer Hyman. \u201cWe believed strongly in his potential then, and after an outstanding development year in Leamington, we\u2019re even more confident in the player he is becoming. A 3.11\/.910 stat line with a 31-14-3-0 record in 48 games in 2024-25 was followed by a 2.69\/.910 stat line with a 27-5-4-2 record in the 2025-26 season. Collecting 8 goals &amp; 16 assists for 24 points in 31 OMHA league games, Christie followed it up with 10 points across 8 playoff games, earning his selection by the Bulldogs. Spending the 2025-26 season with the affiliated Brantford Titans of the GOHL, Christie flashed his two-way ability with 7 goals &amp; 20 assists for 27 points in 38 games while racking up 107 penalty minutes on the season. Good\u2019s draft selection was a reflection of a commitment both to St. Andrew\u2019s College and an NCAA path that has led to a commitment to Merrimack Collge. On Friday morning, the Hamilton Hammers of the American Hockey League named Jay McKee as the franchise\u2019s new head coach, elevating the coach that set a new standard with the Bulldogs in both Brantford &amp; Hamilton over the past five seasons.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>McKee was originally hired by the Bulldogs on July 6<sup>th<\/sup>, 2021 as the OHL looked to return to play in the 2021-22 season and the Bulldogs embarked on a five year run of excellence that has set the benchmark for the franchise moving forward.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Running a sterling regular season record of 213-91-30-6, for a .627 winning percentage, McKee won three East Division titles, including the franchise first back-to-back in 2025 &amp; 2026, two Hamilton Spectator Trophies and of course led the 2022 team that would capture the Bobby Orr Trophy as Eastern Conference Champions and the franchise\u2019s 2<sup>nd<\/sup> J. Ross Robertson Cup. The playoffs saw McKee run a 37-20 record in his tenure behind the Bulldogs bench and his record for development in that time is second to none. Fostering the franchise\u2019s first four NHL 1<sup>st<\/sup> round picks; Marek Vanacker &amp; Adam Jiricek (2024), Jake O\u2019Brien (2025) &amp; Caleb Malhotra (2026, expected), McKee also sent 31 players to be drafted or signed at the pro level and numerous more to the collegiate level. Arriving from two years with the National Team Development Program, Barnett has been a tower of power skating in 180 games between the U17, U18 &amp; USHL levels. In the 2025-26 season, Barnett skated in 87 games between the U18 &amp; USHL sides collecting 15 points from the blueline while posting a plus-21 rating.
