BULLDOGS BEGIN NOVEMBER 3-IN-3
As the Hamilton Bulldogs prepare to begin the team’s November slate sitting atop the Eastern Conference, the team must be mentally and physically ready to run their second straight 3-in-3 weekend. Beginning in Mississauga on Friday, November 5th before back-to-back home games against the Sudbury Wolves on Saturday, November 6th & the Barrie Colts on Sunday, November 7th, the Dogs will be looking for a little revenge this weekend.
The Bulldogs & Steelheads have clashed twice already this season and will meet 6 more times including Friday night’s game. The Dogs have taken 3 out of a possible 4 points on a win and a shootout loss so far. On October 24th, the Bulldogs made their first trip of the season to Mississauga, skating with just 11 forwards and 5 defensemen and on the back of 43 Marco Costantini saves the Bulldogs came away with a hard fought 4-2 victory. The teams would next meet at FirstOntario Centre on October 30th with the Bulldogs at the end of a grueling 3-in-3 weekend. Despite another 38 save performance from Costantini, the Bulldogs would drop a 3-2 decision in the shootout. The Bulldogs will be looking for a measure of revenge, rested and ready to take 2 points from a tough Steelheads group.
Returning home on Saturday, the Bulldogs host the Sudbury Wolves for the first-time season, giving Bulldogs fans their first live look at 2021 1st overall selection Quinten Musty and the high-powered Sudbury offense. The only previous meeting between the two teams came on October 22nd with the Bulldogs in the middle of a northern road-trip that saw Sudbury, waiting for the Bulldogs who played in North Bay the night prior, win 8-2. The Bulldogs will be looking to avenge what happened in Sudbury and will bring an offense that can match up with the Wolves led by the explosive Jan Mysak and slick Logan Morrison with one of the top defenses in the OHL.
The Bulldogs will wrap up the weekend 3-in-3 on Sunday as the Bulldogs host the Barrie Colts for the second time this season. The first meeting at the Bulldogs’ home opener was one of the most dramatic regular season games that FirstOntario Centre and Bulldogs fans have seen. With the Dogs down 4-1 halfway through the 3rd period goals from Navrin Mutter, Ryan Humphrey & Jan Mysak led the Bulldogs back to force overtime where Artem Grushnikov, in his first game in front of Hamilton fans, recorded his first OHL goal giving the Bulldogs the incredible comeback victory. At the end of a tough weekend slate the Bulldogs will need the Hamilton fans behind them to overcome the highly touted Brandt Clarke & his Colts once more.
Family Packs are available for Saturday’s 4:00pm game against the Wolves on Ticketmaster.ca and the Bulldogs will be celebrating the Special Olympics, with proceeds from the 50/50 & Chuck-A-Puck going to the organization, for Sunday’s 2:00pm clash with the Colts!
