Troops salute North Bay
NORTH BAY, Ont. — The North Bay Battalion will wear sweater patches in 2023-24 to celebrate the Ontario Hockey League club’s 10th-anniversary season in the Gateway of the North.
The design features the wording “North Bay Anniversary” in yellow with the right stroke of the first N and the last two letters in “North” forming the ordinal number “10th” in silver.
The 2013-14 season, the Troops’ first in North Bay after 15 years in Brampton, and the current campaign are denoted on a lower band emblazoned with either the Sarge crest or the three-chevrons graphic.
The Sarge version appears as shoulder patches on the traditional green and white sweaters, while the chevrons variation is to adorn a patch on the chest of both the black and white Centurions-themed sweaters.
“We are pleased to mark a milestone anniversary in the history of the Battalion,” said owner Scott Abbott.
“Our time in North Bay has brought success both on and off the ice, and we’re thankful to the community for having embraced the team so enthusiastically.”
The Battalion retail store at Memorial Gardens has been stocked with T-shirts, pullovers and hoodies in several colours bearing the 10th-anniversary designs.
After the season opener on the road Thursday night against the Barrie Colts, the Troops play host to Barrie in the home opener at 7 p.m. Friday.
