Season opener set Sept. 18
NORTH BAY, Ont. — The North Bay Battalion will open its 2025-26 season at home at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, against the Oshawa Generals, the Ontario Hockey League club announced Thursday.
It’s one of two games on the league’s first night, the other seeing the Brampton Steelheads visit the Peterborough Petes, and the first of 68 games on the Battalion schedule, including four against Oshawa, the Eastern Conference champions for the last two seasons.
The Generals provide the Battalion’s season- and home-opening opposition at Boart Longyear Memorial Gardens for the first time. Peterborough leads with five North Bay home openers, followed by the Barrie Colts with four and the Niagara IceDogs and Hamilton Bulldogs with one apiece.
The Central Division’s Battalion swept its two games with Oshawa of the East Division last season, winning 3-1 on the road Dec. 13 and 5-1 at home March 20. It was the second straight campaign in which the teams met only twice, but they revert to the standard four games for interdivisional conference opponents this season.
The OHL’s full 682-game schedule is to be released Monday.
