OWEN SOUND, ON – The Owen Sound Attack announced today that the organization and long-time General Manager Dale DeGray have parted ways.

DeGray departs the organization as the winningest General Manager in franchise history with 564 wins over 19 seasons with the club. During his tenure, the Attack captured its franchise’s first Ontario Hockey League Championship, earned a berth in the Memorial Cup, and won a Western Conference Championship in 2011, made another Western Conference Championship appearance in 2017 and consistently established themselves as one of the OHL’s premier markets. DeGray was also recognized as the OHL Executive of the Year in 2010-11.

Under DeGray’s leadership, the Attack qualified for the playoffs in 15 straight seasons and developed countless players who advanced to professional and collegiate ranks across North America and Europe. The organization also saw numerous players drafted to the National Hockey League during his tenure, including current NHLers Nick Suzuki, Sean Durzi, Jordan Binnington and Jonah Gadjovich.

“On behalf of the entire Owen Sound Attack organization, we would like to thank Dale for his dedication, passion and commitment to our hockey club and community over the past 19 years,” said Attack Governor and President Tyler Nother. “Dale played a major role in establishing the Owen Sound Attack as a highly respected organization in the CHL, and his impact on this organization and community will not be forgotten.”

DeGray’s tenure also helped cement the Attack’s reputation for player development, community involvement and sustained competitiveness despite operating in one of the OHL’s smallest markets.

The Owen Sound Attack would like to sincerely thank Dale DeGray for his years of service and wish him and his family all the best in the future.

In a similar move, the Attack has also parted ways with several members of its scouting staff, including Sean LaFortune (Director of Player Development & Personnel), Brian Teakle (Director of Scouting), Chris Cameron (Coordinator of Player Development & Ottawa Area Scout), David Ross (OMHA Scout), Jim Rauth (Windsor/USA Scout) and Noah Acciaccaferri (U18 Scout). The Attack organization extends its sincere thanks to each of them for their years of service, dedication and contributions in helping shape the organization into what it is today.

OWEN SOUND, ON – The Owen Sound Attack announced today that the club’s annual Awards BBQ, scheduled for Saturday, June 27, 2026, has been cancelled. The team will announce their 2025-26 season award winners through the teams website and social media in the coming weeks.

With the recent changes to the timing of the OHL Priority Selection and player and staff commitments surrounding the NHL Draft taking place that same weekend, the organization has made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s event.

Fans who purchased tickets online will automatically receive a refund to the card used at the time of purchase. Fans who paid by cash or credit card in person will be contacted by staff at the MacVicar & McComb Sutton Realty Attack Box Office to arrange their refund.

“Cancelling a community event is not something our organization takes lightly” said Attack Manager, Marketing & Communications Greg Hoddinott. “Unfortunately, with the changes to the OHL draft schedule and the number of our players and staff that will be in attendance at the 2026 NHL Draft in Buffalo, it became evident we were not going to be able to provide our fans with what they have come to expect from this event and as such made the difficult decision to cancel.”

While the Awards BBQ will not take place this year, the Attack are excited to begin planning several new community-focused events throughout the 2026-27 season, with the first opportunities for fans expected to take place around Training Camp in August. Additional details on upcoming events and fan engagement opportunities will be announced later this summer.

OWEN SOUND, ON — Owen Sound Attack Governor and President Tyler Nother announced today the hiring of Attack alumnus Keenan Reynolds as the organization’s new Head Coach.

A native of Ottawa, Ontario, and former 4th-round pick of the Attack in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection, Reynolds joins the Attack following four seasons of junior hockey coaching experience, including stops with the Nepean Raiders (CCHL), Acadie-Bathurst Titan (QMJHL), and most recently the Erie Otters (OHL), where he served as an Assistant Coach during the 2025-26 season.

Following his playing career, Reynolds utilized the OHL scholarship program to earn a Bachelor of Arts (High Distinction) in Political Science from Carleton University before later completing his MBA at Smith School of Business. During that time, he continued to grow his experience in coaching and player development while also leading several successful entrepreneurial ventures.

“When we began our search, we were looking for a teacher, communicator, and leader with a clear vision for player development and team culture,” said Nother. “Keenan stood out throughout the interview process with his passion, preparation, and modern approach to coaching. His understanding of today’s players and his vision for the future of our organization made this an easy decision.”

"I’m thrilled to welcome Keenan as our new Head Coach," said Attack Captain Pierce Mbuyi. " I had a great conversation with him over lunch yesterday, and I have a lot of confidence in his vision and plan to build a winning culture here in Owen Sound.”

“I am honoured and excited to be given this opportunity with the Owen Sound Attack,” said Reynolds. “Becoming a head coach in the Ontario Hockey League has been a long-time goal of mine, and to do so with the organization where I began my OHL career as a player is incredibly humbling. I look forward to working alongside Tyler Nother to continue building an organization that provides players with the best possible environment to develop as students, high-performance athletes, and future leaders in our communities.”

Fans are reminded the Attack will be hosting a Town Hall meeting for media, Season Ticket Members, corporate partners, fans and members of the community in the Shore Room at the
Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre beginning at 1pm. The meeting will include a Q&A session open for all attendees to participate in."

Incoming Ownership Brings Fresh Vision and OHL Roots to Owen Sound

The Owen Sound Attack in partnership with the Ontario Hockey League today announced the sale of the franchise to Ecological Dynamics Sports Partners (EDSP), led by Tyler Nother and Donald McClure. A press conference will be held at 11:00 AM ET on Friday, May 15th, in the Bay Room at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre.

Tyler Nother, former OHL player and NHLPA certified player agent, will assume the roles of Governor and President of the Attack, focused on all aspects of the club’s hockey strategy, player development, and competitive direction. Donald McClure, Managing Partner and President of EDSP, brings over 20 years of experience as a founder, CEO, and entrepreneur to the Attack’s ownership team.

“We are thrilled to make this important investment in hockey, in players, and in the Owen Sound community,” said Mr. Nother. “Our goal is to build an environment where players are developed to their fullest potential, coaches are supported with world-class resources, and our team competes every single year. We are committed to ensuring the Attack has the resources required to compete at the highest level in today’s evolving junior hockey landscape.”

Long-time co-owner, Dr. Bob Severs, will continue in a leadership role as Head of Business Operations and Community Relations, ensuring continuity and a sustained commitment to Owen Sound. Peter and Paul MacDermid will also support the team in advisory capacities.

“As we considered what the future could hold for the Attack, we wanted to ensure the next ownership team would build a franchise that reflects the values of our community here in Owen Sound,” said Dr. Severs. “Ultimately, Tyler and his team at EDSP made it clear that they respect the Attack’s deep roots in the region and can capitalize on the new investment and fresh vision to bring the organization into its next chapter.”

Bryan Crawford, Commissioner of the Ontario Hockey League, expressed strong support for the transaction and the future of the franchise.

“We are excited to welcome Tyler Nother as the leader of this next phase of hockey in Owen Sound,” said Mr. Crawford. “Tyler has built a reputation over many years as someone deeply committed to the player experience and to the long-term health of our league. He is perfectly positioned to lead this new chapter of the Owen Sound Attack, and we are proud to have him as a partner in the OHL.”

Mr. Crawford also acknowledged the legacy of the outgoing ownership group.

“The League has deep gratitude for the stewardship of Dr. Bob Severs, along with Peter and Paul MacDermid. Their commitment ensured that Owen Sound consistently had a team the community could be proud of, both on and off the ice. We thank them for their years of dedication and for identifying such a strong successor ownership group to continue building the Attack in Owen Sound.”

A former OHL player, Mr. Nother was part of the Memorial Cup winning 2017 Windsor Spitfires. Mr. Nother is also a Queen’s University MBA graduate from the Smith School of Business.

“The community involvement in Owen Sound is a competitive advantage, creating a culture where players and coaches are deeply connected to the community and to each other,” continued Mr. Nother. “We believe this connection helps drive focus, accountability, and ultimately performance.”

Upon closing of the transaction, the new ownership group, alongside Dr. Severs and existing staff, will begin implementing plans to strengthen the organization. Fans can expect continued commitment to a high standard of hockey, a strong community presence, and a long-term vision centered on sustained success.

Building on the momentum of their latest single, “Hometown Heroes,” which was penned after seeing our nation united behind their home baseball team last fall, the tour will bring country music across Canada to celebrate the people that make each city feel like home. The ones who show up for their team, their neighbours and their people every day. The real heroes in every community from coast to coast.

With a decade-spanning catalogue and no signs of slowing down, Brody is entering a year that redefines his legacy.
