Preview: Weekend Matinees on Tap, 67’s Saturday, Steelheads Sunday
The Owen Sound Attack continue their home stand with a set of back-to-back games this Saturday at 4 pm against the Ottawa 67’s and this Sunday at 2 pm against Konnor Smith and the Brampton Steelheads. Don’t forget fans, the Attack are giving away Attack-themed Sunglasses to the first 3,000 fans on Sunday so be sure to get your tickets.
Saturday afternoon will be the second meeting between the Attack and 67’s with Ottawa defeating the Attack 4-3 back in November. The Attack will be looking to even up the season series and continue to claw away at a playoff spot, being six points shy from the 8th-place spot in the Western Conference. Ottawa will also be looking to strengthen their playoff position with the North Bay Battalion sitting only one point back of them in the Eastern Conference. Fans are reminded the Saturday’s game is a 4pm start with gates opening at 3pm.
Sunday’s game against the Steelheads will mark the return for former captain Konnor Smith to the Bayshore, the first since being dealt to Brampton at the deadline. This will also be the second meeting between the two teams this season, with the Attack having come out on top 5-4 in overtime two weeks ago. Sunday’s game is the third Investment Planning Counsel Sunday which includes a skate with the team following the game, a customized jersey giveaway, VIP Meet n Greet draw, and the first 200 kids into the game will receive a free popcorn. As an added bonus the first 3,000 fans into the game will receive a free pair of Attack-themed sunglasses.
Tickets for Saturday and Sunday’s game can be purchased at the MacVicar & McComb Sutton Realty Attack Box Office, over the phone at 519-371-7452 or online at tickets.attackhockey.com.
