Preview: Otter Doubleheader & Spitfires on Tap
The Owen Sound Attack will defend the Bayshore against the Erie Otters Friday, February 13th and Saturday, Feb 14th for a set of 7 pm matchups. Don’t forget fans, Friday night’s game is our last giveaway game of the season with the first 3,000 fans receiving an Owen Sound Attack Belt Bag upon entry so be sure to get your tickets today. Also, Friday night, fans will have a chance to win a set of diamonds earrings and diamond pendant courtesy of our friends at D.C. Taylor Jewellers. The Attack will then complete the Family Day long weekend with a 2pm matinee on Monday, February 17th in Windsor.
The annual weekend doubleheader with the Otters marks the third and fourth meetings between the two teams and their final meetings at the Bayshore for the 2024-25 regular season. The Attack currently trail the SOO Greyhounds by only two points in the Western Conference for the final playoff position, while the Otters are only two points behind the Saginaw Spirit for 4th place. The previous two matchups this year have been intense, fast-paced affairs, with both games ending in overtime. The Attack won their first meeting on November 27th, with Braedyn Rogers playing hero for the Attack. Their most recent encounter on January 27th also went to overtime, with Erie’s Martin Misiak netting the overtime winner.
Don’t forget fans, Friday night’s game is our last giveaway game of the season with the first 3,000 fans receiving an Owen Sound Attack Belt Bag upon entry and two lucky fans heading home with either a pair of diamond earrings or diamond pendant necklace. Tickets for all Attack home games can be purchased at the MacVicar & McComb Sutton Realty Attack Box Office, over the phone at 519-371-7452 or online at tickets.attackhockey.com.
Monday’s matinee will be a tough battle as the Attack will enter the WFCU Centre to take on the Western Conference’s 2nd rank team the Windsor Spitfires. The Spitfires have taken the previous three meetings between the two teams this season. The Attack have played well all season against higher ranked teams and Monday will need to be no different. The Bears will look to minimize the power play opportunities for their opponent and continue the red hot play by Landen Hookey and Pierce Mbuyi.
Monday’s game can be seen on Rogers Television Georgian Bay Channel 53, streamed on CHLtv or heard on 560CFOS Bear Radio.
