OHL Notebook: Nov. 4th, 2025

Here’s a look at some of the top storylines from a busy week across the league:

 

Brantford Remain Perfect in Regulation

The CHL’s top-ranked Brantford Bulldogs continue to be the only team without a regulation loss, entering the week at 13–0–2–1. They lead the league in both power-play efficiency and total goals scored. Jake O’Brien tops the OHL in points with 32 points, Marek Vanacker leads in goals with 15, and goaltender Ryerson Leenders holds the best save percentage at .930.

 

Tristan Delisle Extends Streak

Owen Sound Attack forward Tristan Delisle stretched his point streak to an OHL season-high 18 games, dating back to opening night on Sept. 19. Over that span, he’s recorded 12 goals – including a natural hat trick on Wednesday – and 15 assists for 27 points.

Nic Whitehead Nets Dramatic School Day Winner

The Ottawa 67’s hosted their first school day game of the season against the Brampton Steelheads on Wednesday morning. After a back-and-forth battle, the game went to overtime. On a breakaway, Nic Whitehead was impeded when a Steelheads player threw his stick, resulting in a penalty shot. Whitehead made no mistake, deking goaltender Zach Bowen before sliding the puck into the far side to seal the win for Ottawa.

Kitchener Posts 120 Minutes of Shutout Hockey

The Rangers split goaltending duties over the weekend, and both netminders earned their first career OHL shutouts. Christian Kirsch stopped 19 shots Friday against Sudbury, while Jason Schaubel followed with 30 saves Saturday versus Brampton. Kitchener, now 11-3-2-0, climbed to second in the OHL power rankings. The tandem also became the first in Rangers history to record their first OHL shutouts in consecutive games.

 

Kashawn Aitcheson Plays Overtime Hero

Barrie Colts forward and New York Islanders prospect Kashawn Aitcheson delivered overtime winners on back-to-back nights against Brantford and Sarnia. He added two more goals in regulation against Erie on Saturday, helping Barrie to a perfect 3–0 week.

Vladislav Yermolenko Earns First OHL Shutout

Belarusian import goaltender Vladislav Yermolenko posted his first career OHL shutout Friday in a 4–0 win over Brampton, turning aside 30 shots and earning first-star honours.

 

Jasper Kuhta Has Four-Goal Night

In his first OHL season, import forward Jasper Kuhta continued his breakout season with a four-goal performance for the 67’s in Friday’s win over the defending Memorial Cup champion London Knights. The loss ended London’s streak of 10 straight games with a point.

Pierce Mbuyi and Harry Nansi Shine

The Owen Sound Attack scored 19 goals across three games last week, with two players leading the charge. Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Harry Nansi tallied eight assists and one goal, including a five-point outing that earned him Cogeco OHL Player of the Week honours. Last year’s rookie of the year, Pierce Mbuyi, matched the feat with six assists and one goal, also highlighted by a five-point game.

Aleksei Medvedev Thrives in Starting Role

After backing up Austin Elliot last season, Aleksei Medvedev has stepped seamlessly into the starting role for the London Knights as they chase back-to-back Memorial Cup titles. The Vancouver Canucks second-round pick was named OHL Goaltender of the Week after going 2–0 with a 1.00 GAA and .970 save percentage in a pair of road wins.
