CHL Import Player Martin Matejicek Signed With The Owen Sound Attack
Martin Matejicek was signed earlier this week by the Owen Sound Attack team as one of their defensemen. Matejicek is a seasoned player having many years in the Czechia’s U16, U17 and U20 leagues.
With high hopes for the team and the 2023-24 season, Matejicek says he is excited to be a part of the Owen Sound Attack family. “I am proud to be drafted by the Owen Sound Attack and can’t wait to come. I am looking forward to a beautiful city and nice people.”
Matejicek during the 2022-23 season played with the HC Dukla Jihlava U20 team where he played a total amount of 44 games, raking up 20 points.
General Manager, Dale DeGray, says the Attack were fortunate to be able to select Matejicek in the Import draft this season. “He is a very good skater that has a physical presence and is a solid pack mover. He’s exactly what we were looking for and would like to welcome Martin and his family to the Attack organization and look forward to meeting him and his parents in due time when they arrive.”
With less than a month to go till the 2023-24 season training camp, fans will be able to come see Matejicek in action on the ice the week of the 28th this month.
