Bedkowski, Bennett, Nansi Taken on Day 2 of NHL Draft
The two day NHL Draft concluded on Sunday with three current members of the Owen Sound Attack hearing their names called, David Bedkowski, Trenten Bennett and Harry Nansi. Bedkowski was the first one off the board taken in the 3rd round, 71st overall by the Buffalo Sabres, Bennett was taken one round later in the 4th round 99th overall by the New Jersey Devils and Nansi a round later in the 5th round, 153rd overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs.
“It was another great draft fay for the organization. It’s always a nervous weekend for any eligible players, but it is certainly exciting for all the boys that get to hear their name call” said Attack General Manager Dale DeGray. “David (Buffalo), Trenten (New Jersey) and Harry (Toronto) are all certainly deserving of their selections today at the NHL Draft and with Matthew and Jake likely receiving invites to development camps, all of them will have wonderful experiences that they can grow their games on.”
The players will now prepare themselves for NHL Development camps with their respective teams this summer and will get their first taste of NHL training camps this fall. The Attack will open training camp on August 25th at the Shallow Lake & District Community Centre while season tickets for the 2025-26 season are on sale now until August 1, 2025. Flex packages will go on sale starting August 2, 2025.
