Attack Double Up Colts with 4-2 Win
The Owen Sound Attack took on the Barrie Colts at home this evening at the Bayshore bringing smiles to the fans faces with a 4-2 win. The Attack had four different goal scorers including Taos Jordan, Ethan Kindree, Braedyn Rogers and Landen Hookey. A physical game from start to finish led to five power play opportunities for the Attack with Bruce McDonald and Braedyn Rogers capitalizing on two of them. Matthew Koprowski played his first full game of 2024 recording 30 saves in the win.
The Attack and Colts played an evenly matched opening ten minutes with each team only getting few opportunities. Just after the midway point of the first period Jordan converted on a pass from Trent Gates that left him open in the high slot making it 1-0 for the Attack. Just minutes later Ethan Kindree scored his first of the preseason to make extend the lead to 2-0, which hold into the intermission.
The Colts cut the Attack lead in have five minutes into the second period off the stick of Roenick Jodoin. The Attack were quick to respond while on a 4-on-3 power play with Rogers burrying the point past the Colts goaltender. The teams would continue their tight play but head into the 2nd intermission with the Attack leading 3-1.
An evenly matched start to the third period led to a competitive and physical end to the game. The Attack’s Landen Hookey opened the scoring in the third with a breakaway goal off a great pass from Rogers pulling the Attack’s lead up to 4-1. Shortly after Justin Handsor answers back from the Colts bringing the score to within two, but that is as close as they would get with the Attack taking home the 4-2 victory.
The Owen Sound Attack will now close out their pre-season schedule with a Sunday afternoon matinee against the North Bay Battalion on September 22nd at 2pm at the Bayshore. The team invites fans to bring their skates and helmet to skate with the team following the game. The Attack also reminds fans that they will be holding their annual Town Hall meeting with General Manager Dale DeGray and Head Coach Scott Wray in the Shore Room at the Bayshore starting at 12pm prior to the game.
