Attack Take a 3-2 Win in Overtime Against Otters
The Attack were down at the Erie Insurance Arena for a late Wednesday game against the Otters. Pulling a 3-2 victory in overtime, the Attack will have quite the bus ride home tonight. Making apperances for the Attack were Tristan Delisle, Antonio Tersigni and Bruce McDonald all with a goal. In net for Owen Sound was Matthew Koprowski, making a total of 27 saves in a 29 shot game.
The Attack would come out strong in the first period showing off a solid offence. Drawing play into the Otters’ zone, the Attack would face off right of Erie’s net. Passing the puck along the back side of the net, Attack’s Landen Hookey would pass right up to Delisle, who would make the finishing blow earning the Attack their first goal of the night. Answering back, the Otters would tie the score up 1-1 shortly after but would not see another goal. The Attack however would find themselves on the left wing side making their way up to the Otter’s net once more. Tersigni taking full advantage of an open path, would drive the puck into the back of Erie’s net bringing them once again into the lead.
Not much movement would be made in the second period. The Otter’s would find themselves in the right place, in the right time bringing them back to the score board, 2-2 against the Attack.
With both teams utilizing strength, strategy and perseverance, the third period would be an antagonizing 20 minutes on the clock for fans. With none of the two teams bugging, the call was made to head into overtime.
Fans would find themselves on the edge of their seats in anticipation as the five minutes were put on the clock. With just under two minutes remaining, McDonald would go after the puck in the Otter’s territory, shooting from the left wing side, hitting the back of Erie’s net. The final score of 3-2 Attack had been put in stone.
Up next, Owen Sound will be traveling back to Canadian soil for a Friday night game in Kitchener going up against the Rangers at 7PM. Back at the Bayshore on Saturday Nov. 30th, the Attack will face off against the Windsor Spitfires for another 7PM game.
