Attack Partners with Chuck’s World of Infinite Mojo Podcast to Launch Hometown Helpers Program
The Owen Sound Attack are excited to announce a partnership with area podcaster Chuck Bastie and is show Chuck’s World of Infinite Mojo to launch a minor hockey outreach program called Hometown Helpers. The program will encourage minor hockey players to be involved in their local community and in turn be given the opportunity to have a VIP experience at an Owen Sound Attack home game. The program will hold an event at the Sobeys in Kincardine on Wednesday night starting at 6pm to mark its launch.
The program is being organized by Kincardine, Ontario podcaster Chuck Bastie, who brought the idea to the Attack during the offseason. The idea included working with minor hockey organizations, PJHL teams and small businesses in those communities to support the initiative and get the word out to minor hockey players and to help organize the selection of winning players that will see two winners for each Attack home game. The winners will receive a two tickets to a specified Attack game, popcorn and drink as well as a meet and greet with two Attack players after the game who will provide the winner with an autographed souvenir item. For more information on how to get involved reach out to Chuck directly at [email protected].
“When Chuck approached us with this idea, we were excited to be a partner in it” said Attack Manager of Marketing & Communications, Greg Hoddinott. “This is a great opportunity for us to encourage young people to be involved in their community and for us to provide young hockey players with a bit of a reward in the opportunity to enjoy an Attack game and meet some of their favourite players one-on-one.”
“The magic part of this for the young kids is to aspire to be a junior hockey player in their hometown” said Bastie. “Whenever I interview a professional hockey player they can say with unreal accuracy the first player they met, where, what they were wearing, what they said to them, etc. This is an important moment in their journey that catapulted them to work harder towards their goal in the sport. We hope that this program can aspire young hockey players to their goals.”
The launch event for this program will take place at the Sobey’s store located at 814 Durham St. in Kincardine on Wednesday, October 2 from 6pm to 8pm. Although subject to change without notice, four Attack players will be in attendance including rookies, Elliot Arnett and Ethan Kindree, draft eligible forward Jake Crawford and goaltender Carter George who has just returned from Los Angeles Kings training camp a week ago.
