Attack loss 4-3 in Oshawa Battle
The Attack would play host to Oshawa Saturday night, ending with a 4-3 loss against the Generals. With a solid start to the first period Attack fans would see Sam McCue with two goals and Rafik Varosyan scoring his second goal of the 2024-25 hockey season. In net for the Attack was Carter George making 32 saves against 36 shots.
Heading into the first period, the Attack would start at a steady pace creating a solid defence deep in the Attack zone. Finding a hole in the system, the generals would make quick use of their time earning them their first goal of the game. McCue would be quick to answer making a rush to the Generals’ net in a break away play, the Attack would see to a tied score at 1-1.
The opening shift of period two looked promising for Owen Sound as McCue would make a second appearance on the score board with a swift one-timer into the back of Oshawa’s net. Continuing through the period, the Generals would find the gaps in Owen Sound’s plays, bringing an additional two goals to their winnings. With less than a minute left in the period, Varosyan would make a mad dash to the net , shooting on Oshawa Goaltender, earning his second goal of the season.
The goal sparked the Bears, who were hungry for more, but were halted by the Generals with a fourth and final goal, ending the game at 4-3 Oshawa.
The Attack, will next travel to Erie for a Wednesday night game against the Otters (Nov. 27). Continuing their road trip, Owen Sound will move to Kitchener Friday Nov. 29 for a 7PM game against the Kitchener Rangers. Finishing the week at the Bayshore, the Attack will look to take on the Windsor Spitfires on a late afternoon Saturday game.
