Attack Ink 2024 U18 1st Round Draft Pick Trent Gates

The Owen Sound Attack are proud to announce that they have signed Trent Gates to a OHL Education and Development agreement ahead of the 2024-25 season.  Gates is the Attack first round pick from the 2024 Under-18 draft.

Hailing from Burlington, Ontario, Gates is a five-foot-eleven-inch, 164 pound winger who spent last season with the Halton Hurricanes U18 AAA team, where he had 34 goals and 48 assists.  Gates has played in all three pre-season games so far this season.

“It’s been my goal since I was a young kid to play in the league and it’s a dream come true to achieve this” said Gates when asked about signing with the Attack.  “Dale, the coaches and all staff and other players have been amazing so far.  It’s been a great start to the next stage of my hockey career and I am really looking forward to continuing to develop with the Attack.”

“We were excited to be able to get Trent with our first pick in the U18 draft this year.  He is a smooth skating highly skilled forward that should be able to produce offensively for us” said Attack General Manager Dale DeGray, when asked about Gates.  “We look forward to seeing him in the Attack jersey and would like to welcome Trent and his family to the Owen Sound Attack organization.”
