Attack in 6-3 Loss Against Windsor Spitfires
The Owen Sound Attack were back at the Bayshore Community Centre for a Saturday night match up against the Windsor Spitfires. An intense 60 minutes of play would leave the Attack in deficit 6-3 against Windsor. Seeing a goal in each period from the Attack, Tristan Delisle, Declan Waddick and Braedyn Rogers would all add to their goal scores for the season. Taking turns in net, Attack fans would get teh chance to see both goaltender Carter George and Matthew Koprowski play that night.
Establishing early in the first period the Attack would take control of the puck over the Spitfires. With a wide rebound on an attempt shot from the Attack, Delisle would regain possession of the puck, swinging around the frontside of Windsor’s net with a tipped in shot earning the Attack their first goal. The remainder of the period would be a constant back and forth of movement from both teams. Traveling either side of the ice there was a struggle to remain on top. Windsor eventually would gain the upper hand earning the Spitfires two goals going into the second period.
Once again the Attack would pull together early into the second period. In a break away play, Waddick and Bruce McDonald would rush the Spitfire net, in a joint effort would earn the Attack their second goal of the night. Staying true to the pattern, the Spitfires would put another two points on the board putting them in a two point advantage.
The final 20 minutes on the clock and the Attack looked to pull one more trick from their sleeves. Bringing play to Windsor’s zone, the Attack would swarm to the front of the net. Rogers making a one timer fro the blue line making the Attack’s third appearance on the goal board. A hard fought battle throughout the rest of the period would keep the Spitifres at bay, only sneaking two additional goals. Final score was in, 6-3 Spitfires.
The Attack will next appear in London December 4th for a late night Wednesday game against the knights.
