Attack Hunger Food Drive Presented by IG Wealth Management Set for Saturday
The Attack Hunger Campaign presented by IG Wealth Management is back for 2024 season with volunteers from our great partner at IG Wealth Management on site this Saturday, November 23rd handing out donations bags following our game against the Oshawa Generals. Food and monetary donations will then be accepted at the Owen Sound Attack’s next home game on Saturday, November 30th against the Windsor Spitfires. This year’s event goal is to see fans donate thousands of pounds non-perishable food items and raising valuable funds for the Salvation Army Food Bank in Owen Sound.
“As always our involvement in the community continues to be a core value within our organization. With food bank usage on a significant rise, this event is even more important than ever” said Attack Manager of Marketing and Communications Greg Hoddinott. “We are excited to continue to have a great partner in IG Wealth Management who is aligned with supporting this community and those who are in need.”
This year’s event will see donations being collected on a game night as well as at two main drop-off locations the Attack office downtown and Foodland on the west side. Donations of non-perishable food items will be collected at these locations beginning November 26 to December 4, although they can be made prior to and after these dates as well. Monetary donation can also be made to the Attack Hunger Campaign by visiting the Attack Shack online store and following the Attack Hunger link. All donations over $10 will receive a charitable tax receipt directly from the Salvation Army. If you want to make a donation at the game the Salvation Army will be onsite with their kettles collecting monetary donations.
The need continues to grow at food banks across Ontario and specifically in Owen Sound. The Salvation Army recently reported that food bank usage is up over 42% since last year.
How to Participate:
From November 25th to December 4th, you can drop off below. Anything collected after the game on November 30th will be dropped off to the Salvation Army Food Bank in Owen Sound.
- Physical Food Donations: Three drop off locations available.
- Owen Sound Attack Office: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm (1900 3rd Ave. East, Owen Sound, ON)
- Foodland: Monday to Sunday, 8am to 10pm (915 10th Street West, Owen Sound, ON)
- Corporate Donations:
- We will be working with the business community of Owen Sound and surrounding area to help increase the donations to this great cause.

- If you wish to receive a tax receipt please make a donation directly to the Salvation Army, as third party collections are no longer allowed to receive receipts as per new CRA rules.
