LONDON, ON – The Attack headed down to London, Ontario to take on the Knights in their first of six meetings. Harry Nansi, Jake Crawford, and Max Delisle found the back of the net for the Attack. While Evan Van Gorp, Cooper McAslan, Eloan Le Gallic, Carson Harmer, Thomas Zocco, and Cohen Bidgood scored for the London Knights.
The first period saw a lone power play goal from Leafs prospect Harry Nansi, in his first game back of the season, to break the scoring at the eight minute mark of the game. While Attack goaltender, Ryerson Leenders, faced eight shots on goal in the opening period, the Knight went scoreless in the first 20 minutes of game play.
The Knights opened up the second period with a goal from Van Gorp, at the 6 and a half minute mark, to tie the game. Crawford responded promptly, less than a minute later, when he found the five-hole to give the Attack their lead back. Unfortunately, The Knights scored four unanswered goals with McAslan, Le Gallic, Harmer, and Bidgood slotting the puck past the crease.
The Attack came into the third period hungry for a win scoring two goals back-to-back, with Max Delisle scoring first putting the Attack within two. While Nansi got his second (power play) goal of the game off a tip from a Pierce Mbuyi shot, to put the team within one. The Knights, however, didn’t allow the Attack any more leeway as Zocco got the insurance goal, to make it 6-4, and Van Gorp slotted in the empty-netter to make it 7-4.
Leenders made 32 saves on 37 shots on net while slotted between the away ice pipes tonight, while Brian Cooke made 22 saves on 26 shots on net for the London Knights.
