2021 Graduation Week – Sergey Popov
Sergey Popov, originally selected in the second-round 38th overall by the Kingston Frontenac’s, was acquired by the Attack at the 2018-19 trade deadline from the London Knights. The move to Owen Sound paid instant dividends for the native of Korolev, Russia. The increased ice time and responsibility saw him record nine goals and eight assists in his final 28 games of that season. 2019-20 was a career year for Sergey, setting career highs in goals (19), assists (51), points (70) and plus/minus (+19). In four OHL seasons, he recorded 43 goals, 87 assists for 130 points in 236 regular season games, while also adding three goals and two assists in 18 playoff games.
