Fans can also tune in to the game at home via Flo Hockey, Rogers Channel 22, or listen to TSN 1200 for play-by-play from Kenny Walls.

After two losses to start the series, Ottawa was finally able to implement and execute their system to a tee on Tuesday with a 5-2 win. Cooper Foster picked up a goal in the game, extending his point streak to five games while continuing to lead the team with nine points in the postseason so far. Meanwhile, Frankie Marrelli is coming off a huge game, netting three points in the 5-2 win in Game 3. In the crease, the 67’s will roll with Goalie of the Year nominee Ryder Fetterolf, who had a .947 save percentage across 37 shots in Tuesday’s win. As for roster changes, David Bedkowski returns to the lineup for the first time since Game 1, after serving a two-game suspension. Additionally, Coach Dave Cameron will enter the game as the OHL’s newly minted Coach of the Year, earning the award on Wednesday.

The Colts carry the league’s playoff point leader in Cole Beaudoin, who sits with 19 points in the postseason so far. They were able to hold off getting a penalty until late in the third with the game nearly secured, and as a result, their penalty kill seemed much calmer against the Colts’ otherwise lethal power play.

Ottawa had seemed to have found some holes in Barrie goaltender Ben Hrebik in Game 3, showing a tendency to give up rebounds to the slot, losing form when trying to stop said rebounds, and a tendency to lose composure and move wildly when Ottawa sets up the cycle.

Additionally, the last game saw the success of the line of Sam McCue, Zach Houben, and Teddy Spitznagel in grinding down Barrie’s top line.

If Ottawa can combine these three factors again, the 67’s could have a real shot at putting Barrie in their heels for Game 5.

For more storylines, check out the series preview here, as well as Playoffs Central presented by Gabriel Pizza for tickets, contests, and much more.

Capital connections:

The Barrie Colts feature Ottawa-area-born forward and Utah Mammoth first-round pick Cole Beaudoin (Kanata). The 67’s head back home to Barrie with the series at 0-2.

Unlike last game, the Colts would not be able to catch the 67’s sleeping right out the gate. However, Barrie would be the first to pot a goal courtesy of Cole Beaudoin. Ottawa’s Spencer Bowes would quickly answer back to tie the game. Discipline would ultimately prove to be a problem for the Barber Poles in the second half of the first, but they’d kill off two power plays and ultimately outshoot Barrie 11-10 after one.

The second period started Ottawa’s way, with Cooper Foster netting his second goal of the playoffs in the opening minutes of the period. Yet, this time it’d be the Colts who’d answer back, with a goal from Calvin Crombie. The Colts would take the reins offensively in the second. Ottawa would be called for a penalty in the final quarter of the second frame, and Barrie would capitalize to take a 3-2 lead heading into the third.

Much like in Game 1, Barrie would begin the third with a bang as Dallas Stars prospect Emil Hemming would sink his sixth of the series, before Ben Wilmott would add with his seventh. Frankie Marrelli would cut the lead to 5-3 with a goal later in the period, but once again, it proved to be too little, too late.

Box score

Teams

Score

Shots on goal

Power plays

Ottawa

3

35

0/3

Barrie

5

35

2/4

First period

#29 Cole Beaudoin (5) scores. Fans can tune in to the game at home via Flo Hockey or listen to TSN 1200 for play-by-play from Kenny Walls.

Game one went the way of the Colts, picking up a 4-2 victory over Ottawa in an otherwise tighter matchup. The 67’s have a few areas they could exploit. They could exploit the Colts’ lack of discipline as they got five opportunities on the power play in Game 1. Additionally, Barrie was able to catch Ottawa off-guard early in the periods on Friday—starting on time could easily make the game much more favourable for the 67’s. Lastly, it’s worth noting that the 67’s outshot Barrie over the last two periods of the first game, which should be something to build off of heading into tonight.

Cooper Foster leads the 67’s in points with seven points across five postseason games. Filip Ekberg, Nic Sima, and Thomas Vandenberg all sit atop the team leaderboard in scoring with three goals each this playoffs. Meanwhile, Jack Johnson draws into the lineup for his first career OHL playoff game. The 2025 second-rounder by the 67’s had iced in 10 regular-season games this season, netting two points.

The Colts got a lot of mileage out of their NHL first-rounders in Game 1, with Cole Beaudoin, Emil Hemming, and Kashawn Aitcheson each netting three points. Meanwhile, they were also able to get yet another goal from Ben Wilmott, who sits at a goal-per-game over his six playoff games this postseason. Ottawa will have to find an answer to Ben Hrebik, who stopped 32 of 34 in Game 1.

For more storylines, check out the series preview here, as well as Playoffs Central presented by Gabriel Pizza.

Even though the Colts were placed higher and thus received home ice advantage, the Ottawa 67’s finished above them in both wins and points.
