OTTAWA \u2013<\/b>\u00a0The Ottawa 67\u2019s announced today that they have acquired forward Jaiden Newton from the Barrie Colts in exchange for a fifth-round pick in the 2027 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection and a third-round pick in the 2029 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection.<\/p>\n

“Jaiden brings more than 200 OHL games of experience and leadership to the 67s, including multiple appearances in conference championships and an OHL league final,” says General Manager Jan Egert. “He has a competitive mindset, plays with physicality, and takes pride in his 200-foot game. His ability to win faceoffs adds further versatility to our group. We look forward to welcoming Jaiden to Ottawa.”<\/p>\n

Newton<\/b>, 18, was selected by the Barrie Colts in the second round, 25th overall, of the 2023 OHL Priority Selection.<\/p>\n

The Whitby, Ontario native made his OHL debut during the 2023-24 season, appearing in 45 games and recording one goal and six assists for seven points. In 2024-25, he dressed for 62 games, registering three goals and nine assists for 12 points.<\/p>\n

Last season, Newton appeared\u00a0in 67 regular-season games for the Colts and recorded seven goals and 12 assists for 19 points. He added seven points, three goals and four assists\u00a0in 20 playoff games as Barrie advanced to the OHL Championship Series.<\/p>\n

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]OTTAWA –<\/strong>\u00a0The Canadian Hockey League announced today that Ottawa 67\u2019s goaltender Ryder Fetterolf has been named to both the 2025-26 CHL First All-Star Team and CHL First All-Rookie Team.<\/p>\n

Fetterolf<\/strong>, 18, posted a 29-9-2-1 record, a 2.07 goals-against average, a .923 save percentage, and six shutouts in 41 games during the 2025-26 season. Signed by Ottawa as an undrafted free agent last summer, he quickly established himself as one of the Canadian Hockey League\u2019s premier goaltenders during a historic rookie campaign.<\/p>\n

The Sewickley, Pennsylvania native led the Ontario Hockey League in both goals-against average and save percentage, while his six shutouts set a new OHL record for the most shutouts by a rookie goaltender in a single season.<\/p>\n

Fetterolf was named the OHL Goaltender of the Year, becoming just the second goaltender in Ottawa 67\u2019s history to earn the honour. He later received CHL Goaltender of the Year honours, becoming the first player in franchise history to win the award and only the second rookie or first-year goaltender in CHL history to do so, joining Martin Biron of the Beauport Harfangs in 1994-95.<\/p>\n

The team\u2019s home opener is set for Sunday, September 27, when they welcome the Sarnia Sting to The Arena at TD Place.<\/p>\n

OHL Rivalry Week returns in October, with the 67\u2019s taking part in a two-game showdown against their longtime divisional rivals. Ottawa will visit Kingston on Friday, October 23, before hosting the Frontenacs on Sunday, October 25.<\/p>\n

Fans can also look forward to several marquee matchups throughout the season. On October 28, the 67\u2019s will host the Brampton Steelheads for a special School Day Game, the first of two School Day contests on the schedule. The second will take place on November 4 against the Kingston Frontenacs. Ottawa will also visit the defending Memorial Cup champion Kitchener Rangers on November 15.<\/p>\n

The Battle of the Ottawa River is set to return in November, reigniting the cross-river rivalry between the 67\u2019s and the Gatineau Olympiques. Ottawa will visit Gatineau on November 20 before welcoming the Olympiques to TD Place two days later on November 22.<\/p>\n

Fans can enjoy a variety of home game dates throughout the season, including 12 Sunday games, three Wednesday games (excluding School Day Games), one Thursday game, six Friday games, and 10 Saturday games.<\/p>\n

Fans can now place a deposit toward a 2026-27 Ottawa 67\u2019s Flex Pack <\/a>and take advantage of a limited-time bonus ticket offer. [vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]OTTAWA –<\/strong>\u00a0The Canadian Hockey League announced today that Ottawa 67\u2019s goaltender Ryder Fetterolf has been named the 2025-26 CHL Goaltender of the Year.<\/p>\n

The honour caps off a remarkable rookie season for the 18-year-old, who helped lead the Barber Poles to a 100-point campaign and to one of the league’s top defensive records.<\/p>\n

“We’re very proud of Ryder and everything he accomplished this season,” said Ottawa 67’s General Manager Jan Egert. \u201cThis award recognizes his efforts alongside our Goalie Coach Andrew Mercer and the entire coaching staff throughout the season, and we\u2019re excited to see him make history within our organization.\u201d<\/p>\n

In his first OHL season, the Sewickley, Pennsylvania native appeared in 41 regular-season games, posting a 29-9-2-1 record, a 2.07 goals-against average, and a .923 save percentage. His six shutouts not only established a new Ottawa 67’s franchise record but also set an OHL record for the most shutouts by a rookie goaltender in a season. Fetterolf shared the Dave Pinkney Trophy with Jaeden Nelson for the league’s lowest goals-against tandem and won the F.W. “Dinty” Moore Trophy for the rookie goaltender with the lowest goals-against average.<\/p>\n

\u201cRyder\u2019s success comes as no surprise to anyone who worked with him this season,\u201d said 67\u2019s Goaltending Coach Andrew Mercer. \u201cHe\u2019s a committed athlete who constantly looks for ways to improve and embraces the work needed to become an elite goaltender. Watching his development over the year has been incredible, and I\u2019m very proud of him.\u201d<\/p>\n

The accolades continued to follow Fetterolf throughout the spring. In April, he was named OHL Goaltender of the Year, becoming only the second netminder in franchise history to earn the distinction.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m extremely honoured to receive this award. With the award, Fetterolf makes history as the first Ottawa 67’s player to be named CHL Goaltender of the Year. He is only the second rookie goaltender to earn this honour, and the first since Martin Biron accomplished the feat with the Beauport Harfangs in 1994-95. Fetterolf is also just the third American-born goaltender to receive this award, joining Michael Houser of the London Knights (2011-12) and Dustin Wolf of the Everett Silvertips (2019-20).<\/p>\n
