The Rivalry Begins in Kingston
The Ottawa 67’s are back on the road for another three-game weekend, facing off against their Eastern Conference rivals, the Kingston Frontenacs. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at Slush Puppie Place. As part of OHL Rivalry Week (October 16–20), the Barber Poles and Frontenacs will meet twice; tonight in Kingston and again on Sunday in Ottawa for the 67’s Military Appreciation Game.
Ottawa enters the weekend with a solid 6-1-0-0 record, aiming to bounce back after a loss in Brantford, which ended their six-game winning streak. The 67’s played a fierce first two periods, with Thomas Vandenberg and Jasper Kuhta finding the net in the first, while Cooper Foster and Zach Houben added goals in the second. In the third, Shaan Kingwell added one more, but Brantford took control and finished the game with an 8-5 victory.
Kingston arrives with momentum from a convincing 9-1 victory over the Peterborough Petes on October 10. Captain Jacob Battaglia led with a hat trick, continuing his strong start to the season. The Frontenacs will be eager to even the series after losing their first meeting to Ottawa back on September 19.
Fans can watch the game on Flo Hockey or listen to Kenny Walls’ online broadcast on TSN1200.
