Sunday tilt with Spirit wraps up 67’s weekend
Having taken three of four points on the weekend already, the Ottawa 67’s are looking to head back home with five of six, today.
The Barber Poles drop in on the Memorial Cup host Saginaw Spirit, at 5:30pm, in hopes of winning their second straight, already with points in their last six. Fans can stream live on CHL TV, or hear Kenny Walls call the game on TSN 1200.
Luca Pinelli scored twice, including the overtime winner, as the 67’s picked up a 3-2 win over the Flint Firebirds, a night ago. Chase Yanni got things started with his first OHL goal, and 24 saves was enough for Ian Michelone to earn his fifth straight win.
Saginaw also needed overtime last night, but a goal by Matyas Sapovaliv ended any hopes of a Barrie Colts upset 57 seconds into the extra frame. Hunter Haight, Zayne Parekh, and Alex Christopoulos did the rest of the goal-scoring, en route to a 4-3 victory.
