ROUND 1, GAME 2 PREVIEW: 67’s aiming to welcome Frontenacs back for seconds after series opening win
OTTAWA, ON – After taking the 1-0 series lead, the #3 Ottawa 67’s will welcome back the #6 Kingston Frontenacs at home on Sunday, March 29th, 2026, at 3:00 p.m at The Arena at TD Place for Game 2 of the 2026 OHL Playoffs presented by Nissan. Fans can also tune in to the game at home via Flo Hockey, Rogers Channel 22, or listen to TSN 1200 for play-by-play from Kenny Walls.
After some pushing and pulling, the 67’s took Game 1 of the series on Friday courtesy of some strong performances from youngsters Kohyn Eshkawkogan and Spencer Bowes.
Bowes, who was the first star of the night with three points, credited the fans for giving the team the extra lift.
“It helps a lot,” said Bowes of the fan support during Game 1. “We had a pretty good record here this year, pretty great fans, and a great stadium pulse; when you score a goal, it hits.”
Meanwhile, Eshkawkogan, who is coming off a monstrous four-point OHL playoff debut, is looking for the team to play their game more and not let the other team come to them.
“We’re gonna initiate, we’re not gonna let the game come at us,” said Eshkawkogan. “We’re gonna take the game to them.”
“I feel like that’s the only way we can deal with the physical.”
Coach Dave Cameron expects the team and series to tighten up as the series goes on and players get more experience under the bright lights and pressure of the playoffs.
“You can’t practice pressure; you have to live it, experience it, slice it and dice it,” said Cameron. “The more reps you get, the more comfortable you get.”
The player for the 67’s to watch out for is Riley Clark, who was the only player to register multiple points for the Frontenacs in Game 1. It’s also likely that Kingston rotates goaltenders for Game 2, instead playing Matthew Minchak.
Fans showing up to the game in person will have access to the Fan First Menu, with various snacks ranging from $3 to $5 at select concession stands.
Capital connections:
The Frontenacs roster boasts a few players from Eastern Ontario, including Kieren Dervin (Gloucester), Matthew Frost (Orleans),
