GAME PREVIEW: 67’s start playoff journey at home, hosting Frontenacs for Game 1
OTTAWA, ON – The #3 Ottawa 67’s kick off Round 1 of the 2026 OHL Playoffs presented by Nissan, taking on the #6 Kingston Frontenacs tonight, March 27th, 2026 at 7:00 p.m at The Arena at TD Place. Fans can also tune in to the game at home via Flo Hockey, Rogers Channel 22, or listen to TSN 1200 for play-by-play from Kenny Walls.
The 67’s are led by overager Cooper Foster, who finished the season as the fourth most productive overager in the OHL with 66 points through 66 games. Defenseman Kohyn Eshkawkogan finished third in the OHL in points amongst 2027 NHL draft eligibles with 53 points in his sophomore season. In net, either option is solid with both goalies combining to win the Dave Pinkney Trophy for allowing the fewest goals against.
As for the Frontenacs, they are led by trade deadline addition Alex McLean, who finished with 45 points on the season. Kingston’s roster also features three 2027 NHL draft prospects of note in Nolan Snyder, Matthew Henderson, and Aleks Kulemin. On the blueline, overage Maleek McGowan has been a revelation this year, putting up a career high of 36 points.
These two teams have met eight times in the regular season, with the 67’s taking six of the games and outscoring the Frontenacs 30-17. On paper, the Frontenacs should have an advantage on special teams; however, the Barber Poles have seen major improvements on both the penalty kill and power play as of late.
