GAME PREVIEW: 67’s host Petes to close out weekend
OTTAWA, ON – The Ottawa 67’s (31-9-1-2) will look to go a perfect three-for-three this weekend, taking on the Peterborough Petes (24-15-1-2) on Sunday at 3 p.m at TD Place, sponsored by Madali. Fans can also tune in to the game on Rogers TV Channel 22, stream it on Flo Hockey, or listen to TSN 1200 for play-by-play from Kenny Walls.
The 67’s enter the game with the intention to extend their three-game-long win streak, while the Petes have picked up wins in three of their last four games–both teams holding identical 7-2-0-1 records over their previous 10 outings. They have met thrice so far, with Peterborough taking the first game 2-1 in October, but Ottawa has since taken control of the series with two wins in December.
Cooper Foster leads the 67’s with 44 points through 43 games. The overager is on a six-game point streak, where he has scored nine points, including two goals and seven assists. Jasper Kuhta is the Barber Poles’ only other point-per-game player with an even 37 in just as many games. Kuhta has picked up points in each of his last seven games as well, tallying six goals and three assists. Meanwhile, Sam McCue finally exploded after picking up his first point with Ottawa, netting three assists in yesterday’s win over the QMJHL’s Gatineau Olympiques.
The Petes are led by deadline acquisition, Winnipeg Jets prospect Kieron Walton, who is tied for second in the league in points with 57 points. Walton is the team leader in goals, assists, and total points. Apart from Walton, be on the lookout for 2026 NHL draft prospect Adam Novotný, who sits at 40 points on the season. On the back end, overager James Petrovski remains a force to be reckoned with, sitting at 24 points through 30 games this season.

The Petes have five players from the Ottawa region, including 2025 OHL first overall pick Kaden McGregor (Braeside), Adan Kevac (Embrun), Calum Hartnell (Nepean), Matthew Perreault (Ottawa), and Brett Hammond (Ottawa).
