GAME PREVIEW: 67’s aiming for season series sweep over Sudbury
OTTAWA, ON – The Ottawa 67’s (35-9-1-2) will look to continue their now seven-game win streak as they take on the Sudbury Wolves (18-27-2-0) at the arena at TD Place on Sunday at 3 p.m for the Minor Hockey: Future Barber Poles Day game sponsored by Pro Hockey Life. Fans can also tune in to the game on Rogers TV Channel 22, via Flo Hockey, or listen to TSN 1200 for play-by-play from Kenny Walls.
Cooper Foster leads the way in Ottawa with an even 47 points over 47 games. Sam McCue enters the game fresh off a two-goal performance over the Peterborough Petes, including a coveted lacrosse goal. Meanwhile, 2026 NHL draft prospect Ondrej Ruml will look to continue his hot hand, having three points over his last three games. The game is also Kohyn Eshkawkogan’s 100th career game.
As for Sudbury, Adam Nemec has proven to be an immediate threat since joining the Wolves mid-season, already amassing 11 points over his first 10 games in the league. Jean-Christoph Lemieux’s impact since joining the Wolves from Windsor has been unmistakable, with 13 points through 10 games as of the move. 2026 NHL draft eligible Chase Coughlan remains a player to watch as well as one of the team’s toughest customers net-front and in the corners.
These two teams have only met once this season, with the 67’s picking up a 6-4 win on the road earlier in January despite a shortened roster. Six Barber Poles had multi-point nights in the win with Jasper Kuhta netting two goals, Nic Sima and Thomas Vandenberg picking up two assists, and Spencer Bowes, Kaleb Dietsch, and Filip Ekberg all getting one goal and one assist each.
