Fronts’ lethal power play sinks 67’s
The Ottawa 67’s couldn’t hold back a lethal Kingston Frontenacs power play on Wednesday night, falling 7-1 in their final trip to the Limestone City.
The first period was a low-key one, with only one goal to speak of. Emil Pieniniemi broke the scoreless deadlock with a little under two minutes to go in the frame, putting Kingston up after one.
In the second, the Fronts took over, getting five goals, and chasing Jaeden Nelson from the Ottawa goal. Trailing by six, the 67’s put up some offence as the frame neared its end, with Nic Whitehead finishing off a pretty passing play.
Unfortunately for the 67’s, the scoring didn’t continue in the final frame. In fact, the only goal added to the board was on the home side, with Pieniniemi scoring his second of the night, sending Kingston home with a 7-1 win.
