Friday Hockey in Brampton
OTTAWA, ON – The Barber Poles continue their road trip tonight in Brampton, facing the Steelheads at the CAA Centre. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
Last night in Barrie, Ottawa extended its perfect start to the season with a 2–1 win over the Colts, marking their fifth straight victory. Overager Jack Dever opened the scoring just 1:37 into the first period, before the Colts tied things up midway through the second. Forward and 2025 third-overall pick Brock Chitaroni restored the lead later in the period with his third goal of the season. Between the pipes, Ryder Fetterolf stood tall, stopping 35 shots to earn First Star of the Game and OHL First Star of the Night honours.
Brampton enters tonight’s game sitting seventh in the Eastern Conference with a 3–2–0–0 record. Forward Kieran Witkowski leads the team in scoring with five points (1G, 4A), while goaltender Zach Bowen is coming off his first shutout of the season, a 4–0 win over the Soo Greyhounds on October 3. Despite the strong start, the Steelheads’ roster looks different this season following the departure of several key players, including captain Porter Martone, now with Michigan State after being drafted sixth overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2025 NHL Draft.
Last season, Ottawa lost three of four meetings against Brampton (1–2–0–1). With momentum on their side and an undefeated record over five games, the 67’s will look to rewrite that story tonight and secure their sixth consecutive win.
