Forward Thomas Vandenberg commits to the 67’s
The Ottawa 67’s announced today that forward Thomas Vandenberg has signed an Ontario Hockey League Scholarship and Development Agreement with the team.
“Thomas is a swift skating centreman whose addition immediately improves our line-up,” said 67’s General Manager James Boyd. “We are pleased that Thomas has chosen the 67’s to continue his development pathway.”
Vandenberg, 16, spent the 2024–25 season with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders of the United States Hockey League, where he tallied nine goals and nine assists for 18 points over 55 regular-season games. The 5-foot-11 center added three assists in three playoff games.
Before joining the USHL, Vandenberg played for the Ottawa Myers Automotive U16 AAA program, where he posted 24 goals and 19 assists for 43 points in the regular season. He continued his strong play in the postseason, recording nine goals and seven assists for 16 points in 12 games.
A native of Nepean, Ontario, Vandenberg was selected 93rd overall by Ottawa in the 2024 OHL Priority Selection. He is currently committed to Providence College (NCAA Division I).

Les 67’s d’Ottawa ont annoncé aujourd’hui que l’attaquant Thomas Vandenberg a signé une entente de bourse d’études et de développement de la Ligue de hockey de l’Ontario avec l’équipe.
« Thomas est un joueur de centre rapide dont la présence améliore immédiatement notre alignement », a déclaré le directeur général des 67’s, James Boyd. « Nous sommes heureux que Thomas ait choisi les 67’s pour poursuivre son cheminement de développement. »
Vandenberg, 16 ans, a passé la saison 2024-25 avec les RoughRiders de Cedar Rapids de la Ligue de hockey des États-Unis, où il a récolté neuf buts et neuf passes pour 18 points en 55 matchs de saison régulière. Le centre de 5 pieds et 11 pouces a ajouté trois passes en trois matchs dans les séries éliminatoires.
Avant de se joindre à la USHL, Vandenberg a joué pour le programme U16 AAA de l’Ottawa Myers Automotive, où il a accumulé 24 buts et 19 passes pour 43 points en saison régulière. Il a poursuivi sur sa lancée en après-saison, inscrivant neuf buts et sept passes pour 16 points en 12 matchs.
Originaire de Nepean, en Ontario, Vandenberg a été choisi 93e au total par Ottawa lors de la sélection prioritaire de la Ligue de hockey de l’Ontario de 2024. Il s’est actuellement engagé auprès du Collège Providence (NCAA Division I).
