Eshkawkogan Earns Team Canada Invite
Hockey Canada announced that Ottawa 67’s defenceman Kohyn Eshkawkogan is among 40 players invited to their 2025 men’s U18 selection camp, ahead of this year’s Hlinka-Gretzky Cup tournament.
The 16-year-old blue-liner earned First Team OHL All-Rookie Honours in his debut season, scoring four goals and 16 assists for 20 points in 52 games. He became the first member of the Barber Poles named to the team since Travis Konecny in 2014.
A native of Manitoulin Island, Ontario, Eshkawkogan was selected 21st overall by Ottawa in the 2024 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection. He appeared for Team Canada Red at last year’s 2024 U17 World Challenge, notching two assists through four games.
