Coop’s 200th in Peterborough
The Ottawa 67’s continue their Rivalry Week road trip tonight as they visit the Peterborough Petes for the first time this season. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.
Ottawa started the weekend with a commanding 3–0 victory over the Kingston Frontenacs on Friday. Rookie goaltender Ryder Fetterolf earned his first career OHL shutout, while the 67’s delivered a complete team effort with one goal each period. Jack Dever opened the scoring with his second goal of the season, Filip Ekberg extended the lead with a power-play goal in the second, and Nic Whitehead sealed the win with an empty-net goal in the final minutes.
The Petes enter tonight’s game ranked fifth in the Eastern Conference, holding a 4–5–0-0 record. Peterborough aims to build on their 7–3 win over the Oshawa Generals, bouncing back from a tough 9–1 loss to Kingston earlier in the week.
Last season, the 67’s held a 5-1-0-2 advantage over the Petes. Tonight’s game will establish how the teams compare this season and also celebrate a significant milestone for overager Cooper Foster, who will play in his 200th career OHL game.
