Barber Poles meet Wolves for final time in 2024-25 regular season
Early as it may be, when the Ottawa 67’s (3-6-1-1) meet the Sudbury Wolves (7-4-0-0) on Sunday afternoon, it’ll be the final time they do so in 2024-25, barring a playoff matchup. You can catch all of the action on Rogers TV, and on CHLTV. Puck drop is at 2:05 p.m.
Please be aware, Kenny Walls’ radio call will only be found online. You can find that here.
The Barber Poles saw their losing streak extended to seven games on Friday night in Sault Ste. Marie, as they suffered another one-goal loss. Matthew Mayich got Ottawa on the scoresheet early in the second period, and Zach Houben scored his first OHL goal to tie the game about five minutes later, but in the end, Noel Nordh’s three-point night was too much for Ottawa to overcome.
67’s defenceman Josh Brady registered his first point of the year in the loss, while the Barber Poles’ penalty kill had a much better night, killing off three of the Greyhounds’ four opportunities.
The Wolves come in on a high after back-to-back wins over their bitter rivals in the North Bay Battalion, and having won four of their last five games. Last time out, the Wolves tallied three goals in win, with all of them coming with the special teams units on the sheet, twice on the power play, and once short-handed.
Kocha Delic and Nick DeAngelis both picked up a pair of points in the win, and Nate Krawchuck stopped 27 of the 28 shots he faced.
In their only other meeting this season, the Wolves tasted victory by a score of 4-1. Will Gerrior scored the lone goal for the Barber Poles.
What they’re saying
Norm Milley, Assistant Coach, on the previous meeting: “They just out-competed us. There’s no structure, no systems, nothing works if you’re not competing.”

Keys to the game
- Compete
The 67’s have talked about being outworked in their previous meeting with the Wolves, and now, they can make up for it.
- Net front
Games are won and lost in front of the net, both on offence and defence. The 67’s need to get there, and go all out to win that tough ice.
- Want it
When things aren’t going well, you have to put everything on the line to make them better. You need to want it more than the opposition.
