Barber Poles Kick Off Weekend Doubleheader with Hamilton
The Ottawa 67’s and the Hamilton Bulldogs begin a weekend double-header, Saturday afternoon, at 2:00pm ET., inside the Arena at TD Place. This will be the third meeting in the past month between these two teams, with both previous matchups going beyond regulation. Fans can watch live on Rogers TV, stream on CHL TV, or hear Kenny Walls’ radio call on TSN 1200.
The 67’s are coming off of a hard-fought loss to the Kingston Frontenacs on Wednesday afternoon. Vinzenz Rohrer led the charge for the Barber Poles, scoring a pair of goals in the effort. Tyler Boucher scored his fourth goal of the season, and Steven Laforme notched his first-career marker in the OHL. Will Cranley stopped 37 shots, but the Fronts got the last laugh.
The Bulldogs, meanwhile, earned a win over those same Frontenacs, on Friday night. Kingston notched the first goal of the game, but Hamilton scored a pair of markers in the second to reclaim the lead. Thanks to Nathan Staios, and Ryan Winterton, the Bulldogs headed into the third leading by a goal. An empty-netter from Logan Morrison with two seconds left sealed the victory, with Marco Costantini stopping 29 shots in the winning effort.
