Barber Poles hope to fend off Attack in Owen Sound
Marking the midway point of their three-game road swing, the Ottawa 67’s (15-23-3-5) are in Owen Sound on Saturday evening to take on the Attack (14-26-3-3) for the final time in 2024-25. You can catch the game on Rogers TV and on CHLTV, or you can hear Kenny Walls’ call on an online-only broadcast. Puck drop is at 4 p.m.
The 67’s began their road trip with a loss in Barrie on Thursday night, though they battled valiantly until the end. Frankie Marrelli, Chase Yanni and Luca Pinelli notched goals for the Barber Poles, while Caden Kelly picked up a pair of assists.
After being held off the scoresheet for 19 games, Marrelli now has five points in his past three games, including a pair of goals.
Owen Sound will benefit from an extra day of rest. They last played on Wednesday night, when they lost an overtime decision to the Erie Otters. After taking a 2-0 lead in the first period, the Bears’ advantage evaporated in the second. They once again claimed a lead early in the third, but the Otters levelled the score, forcing overtime, where they eventually won.
Landon Hookey leads the way for the Attack in goals and assists, taking the club lead with 44 points.
In their only other meeting this season, the 67’s claimed victory 4-3.
