Barber Poles eye 3-1 series lead in Game 4
The Ottawa 67’s were well on their way to a Game 3 win over the Oshawa Generals, Tuesday, but a late rally proved to be their undoing, as the home side earned their first win of the series in overtime.
Tonight, in Game 4, the 67’s will aim to head home with a 3-1 series lead, after tonight’s contest at Tribute Communities Centre. Puck drop is set for 7:05pm, and fans can watch live on Rogers TV, stream on CHL TV, or hear Kenny Walls call the action on 580 CFRA.
After Oshawa earned an early lead, thanks to Cameron Butler, three unanswered goals from Cooper Foster, Jack Beck, and Will Gerrior, respectively, saw the 67’s holding a 3-1 lead in the third period of Game 3. Butler’s second of the game, however, followed by a Matthew Buckley goal that was allowed after a lengthy review, and a powerplay marker from Ryan Gagnier gave the Generals a late 4-3 advantage. Despite Beck tying the game with 5.2 seconds to play, Gagnier scored 23 seconds into overtime, erasing Ottawa’s hopes of a sweep. Jacob Oster was the winning goalie, posting 31 saves, while Collin MacKenzie made 23 for the 67’s.
