Barber Poles Close Out Weekend Against IceDogs
With wins in three straight, the Ottawa 67’s look to end their three-in-three weekend with another two points on the road, when they visit the Niagara IceDogs this afternoon. Puckdrop is scheduled for 2:00pm ET, and fans can watch live on Rogers TV, or stream on CHL TV. Kenny Walls has the radio call on 580 CFRA.
With a win, or a loss by the Sudbury Wolves in their game today, the 67’s clinch a berth in the postseason.
In a thrilling come-from-behind victory, last night, the 67’s erased a pair of two-goal deficits, on their way to a 5-4 shootout victory over the Peterborough Petes. Will Gerrior scored a pair for the road team, along with Jack Beck’s second powerplay goal in as many games, and Luca Pinelli’s tying marker with just 49 seconds remaining. Cam Tolnai scored the shootout winner, locking up Max Donoso’s 10th win of the season, on the back of a 33-save performance.
The IceDogs almost fell prey to a comeback defeat of their own, Friday night, on the road against the Sudbury Wolves. Pano Fimis scored a pair, along with goals from Brenden Sirizzotti, and Daniel Gushchin, but it took them a shootout to knock off the Wolves, with Fimis scoring the winner.
