The 67’s put a bow on their OHL-long nine-game road trip on Sunday afternoon, finishing with a 3-4-2 record. Against the Brantford Bulldogs, Ottawa climbed out of a 2-0 deficit, taking a 3-2 lead late in the third thanks to goals from Nathan Amidovski, Cooper Foster, and Brady Stonehouse. Lucas Moore scored late to force overtime, where the Bulldogs eventually came away victorious.
After going goalless through the first 28 games of his OHL career, Amidovski has scored three times in his last six games, while Matthew Mayich has been hot, picking up seven points during the road swing.
The Steelheads won their only game of the weekend on Saturday, downing the Flint Firebirds 5-4 in the definition of a back-and-forth contest. In his first game back after the World Juniors, Carson Rehkopf tickled the twine. It was also a big night for recently-acquired Vilmer Alriksson, who scored the game-tying goal with 22 seconds left.
Brampton recently made another move to strengthen their goaltending situation, acquiring Brayden Gillespie to pair alongside Jack Ivankovic, who also represented Canada at the World Juniors.
Home ice was magic in the three meetings between these two sides in 2024. Brampton has tasted victory twice, while the Barber Poles have claimed the other game by a score of 5-1.
