67’s Northern road trip kicks off tonight in North Bay
In what will be their first prolonged test of the 2023-24 season, the Ottawa 67’s begin embark on their first extended road trip of the year, as they make the rounds through Northern Ontario.
Tonight, the opponent is the North Bay Battalion: winners of their last two games, and a perennial Eastern Conference contender. Puck drop is slated for 7:00pm from North Bay Memorial Gardens, and fans can watch live on Rogers TV, stream on CHL TV, or hear Kenny Walls call the action on TSN 1200.
Still finding their sea legs on the young season, Ottawa followed up their first win of the season with a 5-2 road loss to the Kingston Frontenacs, Sudbury afternoon. Luca Pinelli, and Will Gerrior had the goals in the effort, with Max Donoso suffering his first defeat of the campaign, between the pipes.
The Troops embarked on a Western Conference road trip over the weekend, but most recently took down the Owen Sound Attack by a score of 3-1. Carter Kostuch opened the scoring with his first OHL goal, and Justin Artel scored the winner, before an Owen Van Steensel empty-netter sealed the deal. In goal was star netminder Dom DiVincentiis, who picked up his third win of the season, with 26 saves.
Ottawa took three of four against North Bay, last season, but their second of two games in North Bay saw a sick and depleted Barber Pols squad lose 5-0, after winning 4-2 on the road earlier in the season.
