67’s meet Knights in London
Wrapping up their three games in three days swing, the Ottawa 67’s (8-8-2-3) are in London to take on the Knights (18-4-0-0) at 4 p.m. You can see the action on Rogers TV or CHLTV, and you can hear Kenny Walls’ call on TSN 1200.
The Barber Poles took a 6-3 loss to the Windsor Spitfires a night ago, and have earned a single point thus far on their road trip, after falling to the Sarnia Sting in a shootout on Friday. Nic Whitehead, Filip Ekberg, and Luca Pinelli all registered goals last night.
It was a battle of special teams in Windsor, with the 67’s going two-for-two on their power play opportunities, while the Spits countered by going four-for-seven.
London also plays their third game in three days on Sunday afternoon. On Friday, they were down 3-1 with under a minute and a half left, but came back to win in a shootout against the Owen Sound Attack.
Last night, they took down the Saginaw Spirit 6-5, but held a 6-2 lead late in the game. Easton Cowan currently holds a 54-game point streak, and needs a point on Sunday to tie the OHL record.
The 67’s and Knights have yet to meet this season. London won both contests a year ago, but both went beyond regulation.
What they’re saying
Norm Milley, Assistant Coach, on the challenge of facing NHL prospects: “If I’m a young guy and I see that roster and I’m up against an Easton Cowan, it’s a challenge for me. I want to shut him down. It’s a great challenge for our players, a great benchmark, and a chance to see how they match up against the top-end talent in the league.”

Keys to the game
- Frustrate them
The longer you can hang around against a great team, the more doubt you can sow into their heads.
- Take advantage
London doesn’t make many mistakes, so when they do, the puck needs to end up in the back of their net.
- Discipline
The Barber Poles absolutely must stay out of the penalty box in this game.
