67’s Look to Extend Series in Game Four
With their backs against the wall, the Ottawa 67’s are looking to earn a Game 5 in North Bay. Inside the Arena at TD Place, on Wednesday night at 7 pm ET, the Barber Poles will be in do-or-die mode, as they host the Battalion in Game 4. The Troops have a 3-0 series lead, but the three games played to date have been decided by wafer-thin margins. Fans can watch live on Rogers TV, stream on CHL TV, or hear Kenny Walls’ radio call on TSN 1200.
Though the 67’s fell in Game 3, they put together a memorable comeback effort. Down by a pair of goals with just over three minutes to play, Jack Beck got the Barber Poles on the board, scoring a sweet goal over the shoulder of Joe Vrbetic. Just 87 seconds later, Cam Tolnai was the recipient of a great pass from Thomas Sirman, and he tapped the puck into the open cage, tying the game at two. Max Donoso stood tall, stopping 33 of the 36 shots fired his direction by green jerseys.
The Battalion got the contest started quickly, with a goal from Kyle McDonald that somehow hopped over Donoso’s shoulder. Kyle Jackson scored the next goal of the game early in the second period, giving the Troops a 2-0 lead. In overtime, North Bay had seemingly ended it, but after the goal was reviewed for offside, it was called back. Just a few moments later, however, Brandon Coe tapped a loose puck into the net, and the Battalion took a 3-0 series lead. Vrbetic was stellar all night, stopping all but two of the 34 shots he faced.
