67’s kick off another home-and-home with Generals
For the second time in roughly a month, the Ottawa 67’s (16-24-3-5) are set for a home-and-home series against one of the Eastern Conference’s top contenders, the Oshawa Generals (28-15-3-2) on Wednesday. Puck drop inside The Arena at TD Place is at 7 p.m.
You can still claim your tickets here. Everything you need to know about your visit to TD Place is available here. Don’t forget, you can pick up a delicious hot dog for just $2.
Fans unable to attend can still catch all of the action on Rogers TV and CHLTV, or hear Kenny Walls’ call on TSN 1200.
The Barber Poles are continuing to cling to the Eastern Conference’s eighth and final playoff position, a single point ahead of the North Bay Battalion. Briefly on Sunday, they dipped down to ninth, but a win over the Guelph Storm in a shootout rebounded them back into a playoff position.
Shaan Kingwell played the role of hero in the shootout, complimenting his first-career OHL multi-point game. Luca Pinelli was handed a match penalty for a check to the head, making him unavailable for Wednesday’s tilt with Oshawa.
Oshawa has played .500 hockey over their past three games, securing a win over the first-place Barrie Colts, but dropping games to the 10th seed in each Conference, falling 6-1 to the Storm, and 3-2 in the shootout to the Peterborough Petes.
Still, the Generals have been one of the league’s most dangerous teams this season, boasting some of the league’s biggest names, including Calum Ritchie and Andrew Gibson, who both represented Canada at the World Juniors in December.
Though the Barber Poles started on the right foot in the season series winning the first game, the Generals have responded with four unanswered wins, and are yet to lose to the 67’s in regulation this season.

Keys to the game
- Discipline
The Generals’ power play is chugging along at greater than 25% this season. They can hurt you, so the 67’s can’t give them opportunities.
- More discipline
Stay true to the game plan. Do your assignment, stay in passing lanes and be smart.
- Step up
Missing bodies, the Barber Poles need others to step up. It’s a great opportunity to leave a lasting impression.
