67’s head to Cornwall for final preseason game
The Ottawa 67’s won’t have much time to mull over their loss to the North Bay Battalion one night ago, as they’ll load up the bus and head for Cornwall for their final preseason game against the Kingston Frontenacs.
These teams have met once already in the exhibition schedule. The Fronts took a 5-1 decision over the Barber Poles back on September 1st, with Ottawa’s lone marker coming courtesy of overage defenceman, Matthew Mayich.
Ottawa sandwiched their games against Kingston with a pair of meetings with the Battalion. Their away leg saw the Barber Poles come away victorious with a 5-0 scoreline, and last night, they brought a close to the series with a 4-0 loss. They sit with a 1-2 record rolling into Cornwall, in preparation of their home opener next Friday night against the Niagara IceDogs.
Kingston enters the night with an 2-0 record, after 5-2 win over the Peterborough Petes last night. The Fronts led on the shot clock 44-38, and got out to a 4-0 lead by the end of the second period, before Nolan Buttar sealed the deal midway through the third period.
Fans looking to keep up with the evening’s action can do so on the 67’s YouTube page, where the game will be streamed, along with the great voice of Kenny Walls.
