67’s gear up for Storm chase in Guelph
In the final leg of the Ottawa 67’s (15-24-3-5) road swing, they’re in Guelph to take on the Storm (14-26-4-1), who are adopting an alter-ego for the weekend, the Royal City Jockstraps.
Puck drop from the Sleeman Centre is at 2:07 p.m. You can catch the action on Rogers TV or CHLTV, and hear Kenny Walls’ call on TSN 1200.
The 67’s have dropped both of their other games this weekend, most recently falling to the Owen Sound Attack on Saturday evening 3-1. Luca Pinelli scored Ottawa’s only goal, while Collin MacKenzie was rock solid between the pipes, stopping 31 of the 33 shots turned his way.
Ottawa continues to maintain the eighth playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, one point ahead of the North Bay Battalion, and five ahead of the Peterborough Petes.
Guelph is also in a battle for their postseason lives, currently 10th in the Western Conference, seven points behind the Soo Greyhounds for the final playoff berth. They fell to the Sarnia Sting on Friday, but beat the Oshawa Generals 6-1 last weekend.
In his fourth OHL season, Charlie Paquette has been fantastic for the Storm, leading the club in goals and assists.
In their only other meeting this season, the Barber Poles claimed a 5-4 overtime win inside The Arena at TD Place.
